 ABOUT US

Art on 56th Gallery is a Beirut-based contemporary art gallery founded in 2011 and rooted in the historic district of Gemmayzeh. Since its establishment, the gallery has developed a strong regional and international presence, representing artists from Lebanon, the Middle East, and beyond, with works held in major museums, foundations, and private collections.

The gallery supports both emerging and established artists, with a focus on expanding the visibility of regional artistic practices internationally and fostering meaningful cross-cultural exchange. Deeply connected to Beirut and its evolving creative landscape, Art on 56th remains committed to its local context while actively engaging with the global art scene.

Following the Beirut Port explosion, the gallery contributed to preserving its space and supporting the continuity of the surrounding artistic community.

Founded by Beirut-based gallerist and art advisor Noha Wadi Moharram, the gallery continues to champion artists from the Middle East while building bridges with the wider international art world.

GALLERIST

Noha Wadi Moharram is a Beirut-based curator, gallerist, and art advisor specializing in contemporary art from Lebanon, the Middle East, and beyond. She is the Founder and Director of Art on 56th Gallery, established in 2011 and located in Beirut’s historic Gemmayzeh district since 2012.

Over the past fourteen years, she has worked closely with emerging and established artists, developing exhibitions and cultural initiatives that promote artistic excellence, dialogue, and cross-cultural exchange. Through Art on 56th Gallery, she has participated in international art fairs and collaborations, contributing to the visibility of regional artistic practices within a broader international context.

A strong advocate for the role of art in society, Moharram has remained committed to supporting women artists and promoting greater visibility, representation, and gender equality within the cultural landscape. These values have shaped both the gallery’s programme and her curatorial practice throughout her career.
